New AI Rules: Five Compliance Takeaways

After five recent regulator actions, companies face rising pressure to build a full-bodied compliance program for AI-driven employment decisions. This series on the latest AI rules examines companies’ new responsibilities and obligations, and details steps to address them. Part one of the series analyzed a novel New York City law mandating bias audits for automated hiring and promotion algorithms. Part two discussed standards issued by Illinois, Maryland, California, the EEOC and the DOJ, which last month settled with Meta and required it to discard discriminatory algorithms used to place ads.
