Lax Privacy Policies, Security Measures and Vendor Oversight Lead to FTC Settlement for Mobile Phone Manufacturer

BLU Products has resolved claims brought by the newly formed FTC regarding unauthorized data collection, and failure to follow privacy policies and implement security measures. “The new Commissioners appear to be well-united around longstanding enforcement principles of using deception as the primary trigger to filing of a Complaint and requiring corrective actions through (agreed) orders,” Jennifer C.
