With the explosive growth in the cryptocurrency market comes significant data privacy and security risks that must be properly addressed from both a regulatory policy and compliance standpoint by the government and private sector alike. During a panel discussion at the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ annual Privacy.Security.Risk conference, in-house counsel, outside counsel and DOJ counsel examined recent cryptocurrency adoption trends, as well as recent regulatory policy and enforcement efforts in the cryptocurrency space. The panelists also discussed privacy and security best practices for companies tackling common cryptocurrency risks.
