A Behind-the-Curtains View of FTC Security and Privacy Expectations

As the FTC continues to strongly assert its role in the data protection and privacy space, companies are seeking guidance on best practices to meet the regulator’s expectations. At ALM’s recent cyberSecure conference, Andrea Arias, an attorney in the FTC’s Division of Privacy and Identity Protection, identified the Commission’s enforcement priorities and offered insight on how companies can comply with its rules and policies, noting recent instructive cases.
